Post 757 White Holds on to knock off Portsmouth Post 23 in 2024 Season Opener

Portsmouth, OH— After jumping out to a 5-run lead in the top of the 6th inning Post 757 holds on to get an 11-9 victory at Portsmouth High School. In the season opener, Post 757 was able to throw several different pitchers to get a look at the 2024 team. 

Post 757 jumped out in the 3rd inning to take the lead scoring five runs and a 5 - 3 lead with Coen Larson driving in two runs. Another big inning in the sixth allowed Post 757 to add six more runs on 3 hits to take an 11 - 6 lead with Keenan Moore knocking in two runs. Overall the Colts managed to get seven hits on the day and were led by both Coen Larson and Keenan Moore (2 hits, 2 RBIs), Jack Oyer, and Gavyn Allen (hit, RBI). Rece Allen earns the win in two innings of work giving up no earned runs. 

Post 757 is slated to begin the Muskingum American Legion tournament at Muskingum University on Friday where they are scheduled to open up with the Wheeling WV Post 1 Junior team. 

Big Second Inning pushes Post 757 White over Beverly-Lowell in Game 2 of the Muskingum 2024 Tournament

New Concord, OH-- A big second inning that included 8 hits provided plenty of run support for the Post 757 Colts White club in an 11 - 1 win over Beverly-Lowell 389/750 team in the second game of the Muskingum American Legion tournament. Taking advantage of a leadoff walk by Trent Wade, Colts' hitters Easton Daulton, Gavyn Allen, Jack Oyer, TJ Barr, Rece Allen, Coen Larson, and Josh Young string together singles before Wade drives in 3 runs with a bases-clearing double. The big second inning provided plenty of run support for starting pitcher Gabe Fouch as Fouch tossed 4 innings of 1-hit baseball, giving up 1 earned run and striking out 4. Xavier Lawhorn works two innings of relief on the bump giving up no runs and no hits. 

The Colts collected 12 hits in the game led by Josh Young (3 hits, RBI), Jack Oyer (2 hits, 3 RBIs), Gavyn Allen (2 hits), and Trent Wade (hit, 3 RBIs). Multiple other players contributed with hits and RBIs in the game including Rece Allen, Coen Larson, Easton Daulton, and TJ Barr.

The second win in the Muskingum Tournament puts the bullseye on the Colts as they earn the number one seed in the tournament and take on perennial powerhouse Wheeling Post 1 out of Wheeling, WV. The game is slated to start at 12 pm at Muskingum University. 

The 2024 Colts 12U team is made up of several players from the local little leagues and their season will not start until local little leagues have completed their regular season and league tournaments.
